One of the most important unintended consequences of the current economic downturn is the recognition for the need of the development of good leadership skills. This emphasis is not limited to the CEO or his/her direct reports. Leadership skills are now being developed by forward thinking companies down through team leaders. Though leadership and the skills sets that go with it are defined in a lot of different ways, most thought leaders in the field acknowledge the importance of the development of Emotional Intelligence Skills as a way of enhancing performance. Evidence suggests that a person with good, well developed skills in the use of Emotional Intelligence stand a 36 percent better chance of having the success in their professional and personal lives.

* Provide an assessment tool that will help each person in the class determine their leadership styles and give them a snap shot of their Emotional Intelligence strengths and areas for development.
* Provide an opportunity to develop a leadership plan that can be executed in their real life jobs and situations at work and home.
* Provide an opportunity for networking and interactive discussion to enhance the learning experiences and provide additional opportunity for personal growth and development.
Format for this course:
* Lecture/PowerPoint and reading materials
* Q&A sessions and small group work.
* Reflection paper and presentation of the plans developed through the course.
